Vinesh started his career in the legal profession as a Legal Executive and was called to the Bar in 1997. In practise, from No 5 Chambers, he specialises in human rights and public law, and has been a member of the Attorney General’s panel of counsel since 2003. Vinesh has consistently been ranked in Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 publications as a leading practitioner in Public and Administrative Law, and Immigration over a number of years. He regularly appears in the Administrative Court and Court of Appeal. He was appointed as a Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal in 2015. In 2016, he was named Barrister of the Year by Birmingham Law Society and won the accolade of Civil/Commercial Lawyer of the year from the Society of Asian Lawyers. He is passionate about access to the profession, particularly for those from non-traditional backgrounds and regularly gives talks at schools for those interested in joining the profession, and mentors those that wish to progress in their career. Outside professional life, Vinesh has a keen interest in motorsport, and a long-standing interest in classic motor vehicles.
