SAL AGM 2016 – The results are in…

On 8th September 2016 the Society of Asian Lawyers held its AGM at 25 Bedford Row. A large number of members attended the meeting and heard from the Officers who reported on the preceding 15 months.

Following that a new committee was duly elected. The members of the new committee are as follows (in alphabetical order): Baldip Singh Aulak, Lisa Bose, Raksha Dave, Shabab Hamid, Attiq Malik, Ranjeeta Kaur Matharu, Vaneeta Sharma, Parminder Saini, Ranjit S. Sond, Jack Thornborough, Sachin Trikha and Mandeep Kaur Virdee.

At the newly elected committee’s first meeting held on the same night, the following were elected as the Officers:

President – Ranjit S. Sond

Secretary – Ranjeeta Kaur Matharu

Treasurer – Lisa Bose

The Committee has already started working closely together on developing new ideas for the future development of SAL’s mission and its annual programme. A special thanks goes to the outgoing committee for their immense contribution to the Society over the preceding 15 months, in particular Jo Sidhu QC who has been the President for the last 4 years. Jo has been instrumental in shaping the Society and making it the success it is today.

SAL remains the largest representative organisation for minority lawyers in the UK and continues to grow daily in membership and influence. We welcome the views and suggestions of our members throughout the country.
