Sonia works in-house for Aviva and specialises in real estate/commercial property.
She is lead lawyer on a number of high value complex real estate investments, structuring heads of terms for the development of innovative and prestigious buildings on a large multi-let R&D Park and negotiating commercial contracts spanning land law, landlord and tenant law, corporate law, financing and construction on assets also within the office and retail sectors.
Clients admire her professionalism, depth of knowledge and expertise, commerciality, responsiveness and eye for detail.
Despite the very heavy commitment of her transactional role, Sonia finds time for an extensive range of community based projects and works tirelessly to promote diversity and inclusion both in the workplace and charity work outside of Aviva with a keen interest in mentoring.
These projects include being an Ambassador for Women of the Future, a Mentor on the Law Society’s BAME Mentoring Scheme and for other young Asian Lawyers, an E Mentor on the Allen & Overy/Brightside “Smarter Futures” scheme, a pro-bono volunteer for LawWorks, Treasurer/Events Co-ordinator for the Aviva Norwich Women’s Network and an Employee “Your Forum” Representative liaising between employees and Aviva’s HR function and senior executive team on proposed changes of policy. She is also a member of the Law Society’s In-House and Ethnic Minorities Divisions.
