EMLD Annual Lecture

To honour the achievements and highlight the positive contribution of BAME lawyers in the profession, the Ethnic Minority Lawyers Division (EMLD) is hosting its inaugural annual lecture with a prestigious figure. The lecture will coincide with Human rights week and in keeping with the theme the lecture will look at key human rights and equality issues.
Guest speaker: Matthew Ryder QC
Matthew Ryder QC is a barrister at Matrix Chambers in London, England. He specialises in complex crime and its interplay with civil law, including judicial review, police law and claims under the Human Rights Act tasked with helping to ensure ‘Londoners from different faiths, ethnicities, backgrounds and social classes are better integrated’ in the city. In September 2016, Matthew was appointed deputy mayor of London to lead on social integration, social mobility and community engagement.
