SAL AGM 2019 – The results are in…
On 11th December 2019, the Society of Asian Lawyers held its AGM at Garden Court Chambers in London. A large number of members attended the meeting and heard from the Officers who reported on the preceding 12 months.
Following the Officers’ reports, a new committee was duly elected. The members of the new committee are as follows (in alphabetical order): Sophia Baig, Chamali Fernando, Deenum Gahbri, Sonia Janday, Sandeep Jassar, Muntech Kaur, Attiq Malik, Nazia Razaque, Najia Robbani, Savita Sharma, Satvir Sokhi and Ranjit Sond.
At the newly elected committee’s first meeting held on the same night, the following were elected as the Officers:
President – Ranjit Sond
Secretary – Attiq Malik
Treasurer – Muntech Kaur
The committee has already started working closely together on developing new ideas for the future development of SAL’s mission and its annual programme. We thank the outgoing committee for their immense contribution to the Society over the preceding 12 months. We also wish to thank Garden Court Chambers for hosting us.
SAL remains the largest representative organisation for minority lawyers in the UK and continues to grow daily in membership and influence. We welcome the views and suggestions of our members throughout the country.
