Chamali Fernando
Chamali Fernando is a barrister at Peregrine Law which is a boutique international corporate law firm in London. She specialises in civil and international commercial work and has a strong interest in environmental policy and civil society.
Chamali is a Middle Templar and joined 1 Essex Court Chambers of The Rt Hon Sir Tony Baldry MP QC in London where she started out in general civil and commercial litigation. Having worked at both the self-employed bar and employed bar exercising full rights of audience, Chamali wants to ensure SAL reaches out to barristers working in different roles within the profession, including in-house specialist or general counsel.
With significant experience of representing individual and community interests to government and key people of influence, Chamali intends to advocate the concerns of the SAL membership to organisations, regulatory bodies and the judiciary.
As a champion of mentoring and professional development, Chamali is keen for SAL to help members develop their career paths and access the upper echelons of the legal profession.
